There’s just waaaayyyy too much cool stuff in the world. It’s a wonder anything else gets done — there’s just too many things to see, and more importantly, designs from around the world introduce a new culture to a home. (Clothing involved!)
But this post isn’t going to be about clothes — the internet would simply run out of space if I start blabbing about all the cool clothes I’ve seen in my travels. Instead, what I’ll focus on is the stuff you could put in the house to truly knock the socks off the world (and your visitors) by expressing who you are.

Ikea furniture – Now these make for the ingredients to a dream home — beautiful lines, elegant designs and good, sturdy materials have brought Swedish brand Ikea to homes everywhere. Aside from the interesting designs of their tables, sofas, armchairs, bookcases, cabinets and home entertainment system storage — did you know that most of their tables are named after places from Sweden, shelves named after occupations, and bathroom items are named after rivers. Not only do you get something nice for the house, you also get to learn some of the language.

Wardrom – I’m guessing throwing discarded dresses on the floor is universal. Ever gotten home after an evening out with all your wardrobe “changes” were on the floor? What a mess. Designer Paula, from Italy, remedies that — with the invention of the Wardrom. Why leave clothes on the floor, when you can impale them on the wall? The genius in this design is that it turns your room clutter into a work of art.

Straps Band Chair – Designed by Paris-based designer, Yahïa Ouled-Moussa, this design turns old 80’s canvas belts into something useable today. Saw this over @ The Cool Hunter, — apparently, Yahia turns old cloths and fabrics into funky and fashional designs that are in touch with today’s tastes. Cool and recycled? Double points for that one.

Kedo Tea Cups – Don’t you hate it when the string in a tea bag drops into the water? It’s such a pain! Well, Taiwan-based (correct me if I’m wrong on this one, I can’t open their site.) KEDO has the right idea — their cups have buttons on the side for which to tie the tea bag-string around in. Plus, They feature a double layer of china to protect the hands from heat.

Shoe Wheel – My top favorite of all! Originally from Hong Kong, founder Danilo Torro and wife Lori Quon are dedicated to making revolutionary storage spaces. They even named their company, Rakku Designs, after the Japanese word for “rack.” The shoe wheel is a revolving mobile storage unit for … shoes! (Beautiful shoes!) The shoes are inserted and kept in place by elastic cords, while every one of the 20 pockets is expandable, making room for your tiny flats, or your larger trainer shoes. There’s also a tension control, to control how fast the wheel spins. It also comes in different colors, like pink! Did I mention that I lurve shoes?
