Frequently Asked Questions
What is TTiqq?
TTiqq is THE online source for tips and tricks. Find that hard to believe? Read on my friend. TTiqq is a user driven website where EVERYTHING is submitted by active users, such as yourself. This means that there will be a continous flow of fresh tips and tricks to satiate your learning desires. You might come to the site without a particular topic in mind. Not a problem! Surf around a bit. Odds are pretty high that you'll come across some tip or trick that you'll be itching to try out.
Is that it? Not quite! After new tips and tricks are submitted to the site, you will have the opportunity to share your opinion on it. If you like a particular post, TTiqq it! If a post receives enough TTiqqs, it will make its way to the front page. You have something to say about that tip or trick? Attach a comment! Think a post is spam? Bury it!
How does TTiqq Work?
The sites content will be determined by the active participation of its users. The tips and tricks posted on the site will be reflective of the diverse interests of the users. There is a great opportunity for you to be exposed to new interests which can broaden your horizons.
1. Explore
Explore online resources. While you're exploring the web, if you find a tip or trick that you feel is pretty cool, submit it to TTiqq.com. Your post will automatically find its way into the "Upcoming Posts" area where fellow users can evaluate and potentially TTiqq it.
2. Evaluate
Take part in the TTiqq community by browsing through the "Upcoming Posts" and voicing your opinion. If you like a particular post, give it a TTiqq! Doing so will increment the TTiqq count for that post. Once the number of TTiqqs for a given submission exceeds a certain threshold, the post will be promoted to the "Published" area. In the same fashion, posts in the "Published" area can also be Tuqq. If a post continues to get many TTiqqs, it can potentially make it onto the front page and the Top 10 list. If a post does not make it out of the "Upcoming Posts" area within a certain time frame, the post will be discarded. Such posts can still be viewed by using the search feature or through the "Saved" tab in the original posters profile.
There may be times when you come across a post which you consider to be spam (Ie. broken links, duplicate entries, not a tip or trick). Do the community a favor and Bury it! If it really is spam, others will Bury it as well. When the bury count for a post exceeds a certain threshold, the post will be discarded. This is our way of cleansing the system of useless posts.
3. Share
If you come across a tip or trick on our site that you want to share with non-Tiqq users, send them an email using the "Tell a friend" feature. Alternatively, you can get them to subscribe to an RSS feed of your activity on the TTiqq site.
It may also be beneficial for you to accumulate a list of friends with similar interests. In doing so, you can track what posts they TTuqq, thus giving you easy access to tips and tricks that you will find worthwhile.
4. Discuss
Attach a comment to any post that you feel you have something worthwhile to share with the community. Comments are also subject to the TTiqq and Bury system.
What is karma?
Karma is a way to rank users based on their participation. This number is calculated from the number of posts, votes, and comments a user submits. Therefore, a user with high karma can be thought of as an individual who continuously posts worthwhile content that most users like.
